The right football clothing
Football clothing has a distinguishing function. Since both teams have their own club colours, you can clearly see on the pitch who belongs to which team. So the referee can clearly tell who's doing what during a challenge, the colours of the two teams may only match up to a third. Football is an intensive sport involving a lot of running, so it's important that the clothing isn't too tight and gives your child plenty of freedom of movement.Football shirts
There are different types of football shirts. Each shirt has its own function. Under your child's football shirt you can put on a thermal shirt. A thermal shirt keeps the body's temperature steady. There are thermal shirts for summer and special ones for winter. Summer thermal wear provides cooling, while winter thermal wear provides warmth. Choose a winter thermal shirt when it's below 10 degrees Celsius outside.Football shorts
Football is generally played in football shorts. The shorts should also have moisture-wicking properties. Underneath, your child can wear sliding shorts. Sliding shorts prevent chafing in the groin and grazes from slide tackles. Slide tackles are especially painful on artificial turf.Football socks
Socks are part of the kit and should match the team colours during matches. Socks also keep the shin guards in place. Regular socks don't give your child's feet the protection they deserve while playing football. Socks that are too big or too small can cause injuries. If your child's socks are too big, friction can lead to blisters. Socks that are too small can cause ingrown toenails. Some socks offer extra support in specific spots on the feet that need it, such as the heels and ankles. The tracksuit
Put a tracksuit on your child before and after training or a match. Before training, it helps the muscles warm up a little before exercise begins. Muscles need to be warm to lower the risk of injury. After playing football, the tracksuit stops the body from cooling down too fast.A tracksuit consists of a training jacket and training pants. You can also put together your own combination by pairing a training jacket with training pants.
