Mandatory football accessories

The KNVB (Dutch football association) states in its rules that every player must wear shin guards, so shin guards for kids are an absolute must-have! You can choose shin guards that strap under the foot and around the calf, or so-called shin guard sleeves. These sleeves are separate guards that you attach to the shins with a strap.

A water bottle shouldn't be missing during a match either! When an injury happens, it's often important to cool it straight away, this helps prevent swelling.

Not mandatory, but handy

Of course there are also plenty of accessories that make football just a bit easier or more comfortable, even though you don't strictly need them. Think of a ball bag to carry the balls, or a pair of gloves to stay warm during cold winter days.

Kids often like sock holders to tie their socks with, these straps keep football socks from slipping down so the shin guards stay in place too. Guard stays are also very popular with kids, these straps go around the ankles and mainly keep the shin guard sleeves from sliding down.

Football accessories for training

Coaches can always use a hand too! Or maybe you'd like to train a bit at home yourself? That's possible with training accessories! For example, you could set up a small goal in the garden to practise scoring, or lay out a course with a few cones to keep your fitness up!
