Track jackets for kids
A track jacket is ideal for the warm-up or to stay warm after the match.
Purpose of training tops
When your child plays football, it's important that their muscles are warm at the start of training or a match. Cold muscles are much less supple than warm ones, which increases the risk of muscle tears compared to when the muscles are warm. A warm-up is therefore essential, but wearing a track jacket also helps keep the muscles warm. It's a good idea to keep the track jacket on during the warm-up too. This keeps your child's upper body warm, and when the upper body is warm, it's easier for the rest of the body to stay at temperature.
After training, it's also important that the muscles cool down gradually. Make sure your child puts the track jacket back on immediately after training or a match. A cool-down is also a good idea. The muscles then cool down gently, which greatly reduces the risk of muscle soreness.
More features
Some track jackets not only keep your child's body warm, they also keep out the rain. These jackets usually also have a hood, so rain can't run down your child's neck. Even though the jacket keeps out rain, sweat is still released outward. This way your child's body stays optimally protected against moisture.
Something else to look out for when buying is whether the training top has pockets, elastic cuffs and/or a hood. The track jacket usually has a full zip, but there are also jackets with a half zip. Most track jackets are made from a soft, light and breathable fabric.
