Kids' goalkeepers gear
What Does a Goalkeeper Outfit Consist Of?
A goalkeeper's primary task is to stop goals, and hands play a crucial role in this. Therefore, proper protection for the hands is essential. Additionally, goalkeepers face various conditions, such as standing still while their team is attacking, and springing into action when the opponents are on the attack. This involves a lot of movement and occasional dives for the ball. Goalkeeper clothing is designed with special padding and cushioning to protect the body from bruises and abrasions.
Goalkeeper Gloves
Goalkeeper gloves are a goalkeeper’s most important gear. They come with or without fingersave technology. Fingersave means the gloves have plastic or metal reinforcements behind the fingers to prevent them from bending backward. While these gloves provide more protection, they are less flexible and offer reduced freedom of movement.
Gloves without fingersave are more flexible and offer better grip and ball feel. They are recommended for young goalkeepers who are just starting, as they help train and strengthen their hands and fingers.
Goalkeeper Shorts
Goalkeeper shorts come in both short and long styles. The purpose of goalkeeper shorts is to protect the lower body from abrasions and bruises. Long goalkeeper shorts provide extra reinforcement and padding at both the hips and knees. Short goalkeeper shorts offer protection only at the hips.
These shorts are made from materials that quickly wick away sweat, keeping your child’s body dry and comfortable.
Goalkeeper Shirts
The upper body also needs protection, especially the elbows, which are prone to injuries. Goalkeeper shirts have padding at the elbows to protect against abrasions and bruises. Additionally, goalkeeper shirts are made from moisture-wicking materials and partially block the wind.
