Types of swimwear

For men and boys there are swim shorts and swim briefs. A swim short is the fashion trend this summer. Besides being worn as swimwear, the short is also suitable to wear on a summer day, combined with a trendy shirt and flip-flops. The swim briefs are tight swim trunks in various models. Due to the streamlined design, the swim briefs are often used by competitive swimmers, but as a recreational swimmer you can of course also opt for a trendy swim brief.

For women and girls there are the swimsuits. The swimsuit is making a comeback. Competitive swimmers wear a swimsuit to minimize resistance. In addition, swimsuits are designed so that the straps do not slip off, allowing women to swim without worrying about their clothing. Nowadays you see more swimsuits on the beach again. Thanks to the trendy designs and colors, swimsuits are back in style.

Features of swimwear

It is important that swimwear fits comfortably, so that you appear confident in your swimwear. Swimwear should fit well and not be too loose, as it tends to expand in water. Swimwear is mostly made of polyester. Polyester is a fabric that feels soft and dries quickly. Especially if you go to the pool often, it is important that the material is chlorine-resistant.

Sustainable swimwear

Unfortunately, not only a lot of plastic is dumped in the sea, but fishing nets also often remain on the seabed. To keep the oceans and seas clean and to prevent animals from getting entangled in these nets, the nets are removed from the sea. Subsequently, the fishing nets are cleaned and completely dismantled, after which a new fabric can be made from them! The recycled fishing nets are often used in making swim trunks and swimsuits. This way, the recycled fishing nets end up in the sea (or in the pool of course) for a better purpose!
