Purpose of a windbreaker for men
A windbreaker is a lightweight jacket designed to protect you against cold wind and light rain. A windbreaker is suitable to wear all year round. If it's cold outside, wear enough layers underneath to keep your body warm.
A windbreaker is lightweight and is usually made from a synthetic material that's water-repellent and windproof. To make sure rain and wind can't get in, the sleeves are often fitted with elastic cuffs and the bottom of the jacket usually has an elastic waistband too. Many windbreakers also come with a hood that can usually be rolled up and stored in the collar. This way you won't be bothered by the hood when you're not using it.
Washing instructions
It's especially important to wash windbreakers the right way. If you don't, the wind- and water-repellent properties can be lost. Wash the windbreaker according to the washing instructions. These instructions are on the label on the inside of the windbreaker. In any case, don't use fabric softener and hang the windbreaker up to dry.
Tip
If the temperature outside is low, wear enough layers underneath the windbreaker. Thermal clothing is an example of such a layer. Thermal clothing is worn directly against the skin and helps keep your body at the right temperature.
