The Right Support for Your Feet

Children are still growing, so it's crucial that their feet receive proper support while running. Good running shoes are the foundation of a running outfit, reducing the risk of injury. If you’re running on flat terrain, such as an asphalt road, choose neutral shoes. For uneven terrain or forest trails, opt for trail running shoes, which offer more grip than neutral shoes.

Running socks are also important. They are seamless to prevent irritation and are breathable, keeping your feet fresh!

The Right Running Outfit

Children want to look good while running, and that’s possible! Running clothing comes in various colors and styles, so you’re sure to find a fun outfit.

Good running apparel is breathable, keeping the body fresh and dry. Runners often use the three-layer system. The first layer is worn directly on the skin, usually a thermal shirt. The second layer is a running shirt, and the third layer is a running jacket. The third layer protects against weather conditions like rain and wind, so it’s important that this layer is wind- and water-resistant.

In summer, wearing three layers is usually unnecessary. You may only need one or two layers, depending on the temperature and your preference. You can also adjust your running pants based on the weather. In cold weather, wearing long tights is comfortable, but in the height of summer, a short pair of shorts might be preferable!

Injury Support

Accidents can happen, and injuries can develop over time. To aid recovery or prevent future injuries, consider wearing a brace while running. Additionally, tape or insoles can help prevent new injuries.

Tip

If you run in the dark, make sure you’re visible to other road users. Wear a light on your running jacket or a reflective armband to increase your visibility.
