What Should You Wear?

As a child, you're still growing and are more prone to injuries. The right running clothes can help reduce the risk of these injuries. Running clothes provide comfort, freedom of movement, and support. They keep your body dry and at the right temperature. When it's cold, make sure to wear long running clothes to keep your body warm, which is important for preventing injuries.

Layering

What’s the best outfit for running? Layer up! This way, you can remove a layer if you get too warm or add one if you feel cold. For example, wear a thermal shirt or compression shirt under your running shirt. Be aware that these shirts serve different purposes. A thermal shirt helps regulate body temperature, while a compression shirt supports your muscles and conserves energy. Over the running shirt, you can wear a running jacket to protect you from rain and wind.

Running Pants

There are both tight and loose running pants. Tight running pants, also known as tights, are common among most runners. This is because they allow for free movement and prevent friction or chafing. However, some runners prefer loose pants. No problem! It's important for them to choose lightweight pants so that they don’t get in the way during running.

Sports Socks

Your everyday socks aren’t suitable for running. Choose special sports socks instead. These are designed to keep your feet dry and protect them from friction and irritation. Make sure to wear the right size, as socks that are too big can still cause friction, and socks that are too small can lead to ingrown toenails.

Running to Music

What’s better than running to a good beat? Music gives you energy and helps you run longer. You might wonder where to put your phone or iPod while running. Most running clothes come with a small pocket for this.

Make sure you’re visible on the road. Wear running clothes with reflective elements or accessories. This way, your parents can let you run outside in any weather with peace of mind.
