Track jackets for women
A track jacket is ideal for the warm-up or to stay warm after the match.
Function of a track jacket
When you're going to play football, it's important that your muscles are warm. Cold muscles are far more prone to injury because they're less supple. A warm-up is therefore essential before you train or play a match. It's also important to dress warmly enough. A track jacket comes in handy here. Keep the track jacket on until the end of the warm-up. Your upper body then stays warm and you won't catch a chill. If your upper body is warm, it's easier for the rest of your body to stay warm too.
After your football training or match, your body cools down quickly. It's wise to do a cool-down after playing football. Your body then cools down gradually, reducing the chance of muscle soreness. Put your track jacket back on during the cool-down. This prevents your body from cooling down too quickly. If you don't, the muscle soreness will be considerably worse the next day.
Details
Track jackets come with various details. Think of side pockets with or without a zip, elastic cuffs and a hood. Most track jackets have a full zip, but there are also track jackets with a half zip.
Most track jackets are made of polyester. Polyester is lightweight, dries quickly and retains its shape. Another important property of polyester is that it wicks away moisture well. This way your body stays dry and comfortable, despite sweating.
Tips
Wash your track jacket according to the washing instructions. These can be found on the label on the inside of the jacket.
Combine your track jacket with training pants and head onto the football pitch well prepared.
