Football shorts for women
A well-fitting football short makes all the difference during a match. Check out the women's range from Nike and Adidas.
The properties
A football short needs to be durable. The short takes quite a beating, so it needs to be made from strong material. In addition, you need to be able to move well in the short. Check this while trying it on by moving around, running a little, and kicking a leg high in the air. It's important that your body stays at the right temperature. That's why the short needs to be able to wick away sweat.
Material
A football short is lightweight, so you barely notice you're wearing the shorts and can move freely. In addition, the short needs to breathe well. Polyester is a fabric that has these properties.
There are brands that add properties to football shorts through technology. Nike, for example, uses Nike Dri-Fit technology, and Puma uses Puma Cell technology. Both technologies ensure optimal moisture wicking and good ventilation. Most football shorts have an elastic waistband with a drawstring, so the short stays in place.
Washing instructions
To make sure stains don't set in and sweat doesn't get the chance to bond to the short, it's wise to wash the football short soon after playing football. Check the washing instructions on the care label on the inside of the football short and wash according to these instructions. Do not use fabric softener. Fabric softener can damage the technical fabrics. Do not put the short in the dryer, but hang it up to dry. The material dries quickly, and the dryer can damage the quality of the short.
Tip
Also take a look at our tracksuits. A tracksuit keeps your body warm before and after your training or match. This reduces the risk of injury.
