Footballs for women
From match ball to street football: at PlutoSport you'll find footballs for women from Derbystar and Adidas.
Surface
To determine which ball you need, you first need to determine on which surface the ball will be used. Will it be used for indoor football, mostly played on artificial turf, or do you mainly play on natural grass? Another option could be that the ball is used for street football.
In competitive play, a distinction is made between indoor football and outdoor football. With outdoor football you can play on artificial turf or natural grass, and special balls have been designed for both. Artificial turf, for example, requires a wear-resistant ball, while this is much less of an issue for natural grass.
Balls that are mainly suitable for use in your free time are the balls used for beach soccer. These balls are water-repellent and therefore very suitable for use in and around water. In addition, these balls have a soft outer layer so it doesn't hurt when the ball touches your bare feet.
Training ball or match ball?
The difference between match and training balls lies in the material the ball is made of. A match ball must play well in sunny weather, but must also not lose its functionality during heavy rain! Match balls are always made of polyurethane, a durable and wear-resistant material. Training balls are often made of PVC, which makes them less resistant to rain and cold.
Size and weight
Women's teams play with ball size 5, which has a circumference of about 70cm. For women, the weight of the footballs is often somewhat lower than for men. The rules for competition and cup matches state that the ball must weigh between 370 and 450 grams.
