Water sports clothing

The right water sports clothing depends on the sport and the weather. In the summer, swimming shorts or swimsuits are often sufficient, in the winter it is better to dress warmer. With the right outfit, you'll have more fun on the water.

Functional water sports clothing

Water sports clothing is made to make your time on the water as comfortable as possible: it quickly wicks away perspiration, regulates body temperature and protects against water and wind. That doesn't mean it has to be boring, even in the water sports industry, fashion and function go hand in hand these days.

Upper body

It can be cold on the water, so protect your upper body well. A sailing jacket protects against cold, wind and rain, and you can take it off again when the sun starts to shine. In summer, for sun protection, it is best to wear a polo or UV shirt.

Lower body

On warmer days, (swimming) shorts will suffice, but apply sunscreen to your bare legs. On colder days, long, wind- and waterproof sailing pants are more comfortable.

Tip

Not sure about the weather? Then dress in layers: start with a shirt, wear a sweater over it and add a jacket if necessary. This way you can easily adjust your outfit when the temperature changes.
