Longsleeves football shirts
Which Long-Sleeve Football Shirt Suits Me?
When choosing a good shirt, it’s essential that you can move freely and that the shirt feels comfortable. It should also stay dry, even during intense sweating. For this reason, avoid buying a shirt made of 100% cotton, as this material cannot wick away sweat.
A long-sleeve shirt is worn when it’s too cold to play sports in a regular T-shirt. Keeping your torso warm is crucial, as a warm torso helps the body maintain its overall temperature more easily.
Which Fabric Is Best?
As mentioned, shirts made from 100% cotton are not ideal. These shirts absorb sweat but don’t wick it away, leading to sweat stains. This not only feels unpleasant but also causes the body to cool down quickly. A blend with a synthetic fabric is a better option.
There are also special technologies used in long-sleeve shirts. Nike, for instance, uses Dri-Fit technology, which quickly absorbs sweat and wicks it away. This ensures the shirt stays dry and feels comfortable. Other brands offer similar technologies, such as Puma’s USP technology and Adidas’ Climalite.
Tip
Avoid washing the shirt at high temperatures. Washing it too hot can damage the embedded technologies in the fabric. Football shirts should be washed at 30 degrees Celsius. If the shirt is very dirty, a maximum of 40 degrees is acceptable. Do not use fabric softener, as it reduces the fabric's elasticity.
