- From 2,000 mm: The rain jacket remains waterproof even during longer rain showers, but will still leak under pressure.
- From 5,000 mm: The rain jacket is resistant to long and intense weather, even under high pressure the jacket remains waterproof. With very prolonged high pressure, the product may eventually leak.
- From 15,000 mm: The rain jacket is resistant to extremely heavy rain showers and even underwater the jacket keeps you dry.
How important is the material of a rain jacket?
A rain jacket should not let rain and wind through, but should still be made of breathable material. This prevents excessive sweating and helps the body maintain its temperature. When making your choice, also check if the rain jacket has a hood, if the sleeves can be securely closed, and if the seams and zippers are well-treated to prevent water leakage. How do I clean my rain jacket?
Wash the outside of a rain jacket with a sponge and warm water. Preferably, do not put the rain jacket in the washing machine as the water-resistant properties of the jacket may significantly decrease. Always check the washing instructions beforehand. If the jacket can be machine washed, do not use fabric softener. Hang the rain jacket to dry, avoiding direct sunlight and heat sources.
