Hockey gloves

Hockey gloves from The Indian Maharadja, Brabo and Reece protect your hands from scrapes and give extra grip on the stick. Indoors you're required to wear closed gloves, because you play lower to the ground there and the chance of a ball hitting your hand is greater. Measure the circumference of your knuckles with a tape measure to determine the right size.

Why wear hockey gloves?

During a hockey training session or match it's important to protect yourself well, which you can do by wearing hockey gloves, among other things. Hockey gloves cover the whole hand, preventing your hands from scraping across the (artificial) grass or hall floor and causing scrapes. Wearing hockey gloves also gives you more grip when holding the hockey stick. Indoors it's mandatory to wear closed hockey gloves, because you play lower to the ground there and the chance of a ball being played against your hand is greater. You're required to wear the hockey glove on your left hand, but of course you may also wear it on both hands for optimal protection!

What should good hockey gloves meet?

A good hockey glove provides protection while playing hockey and its function isn't to keep your hands warm. Pay close attention to this when buying hockey gloves! There's also a difference between hockey gloves for indoors and for the pitch. Hockey gloves for the pitch are often not fully closed and a bit thinner, for indoors the hockey gloves are often a bit thicker.

What size hockey gloves do I need?

Most hockey gloves have a size range from XXS to L, so both juniors and seniors can find a suitable pair of gloves. To know what size hockey gloves you need, place a tape measure over your knuckles and you'll know the circumference of your hand. Then check the size chart for the hockey gloves from The Indian Maharadja, Brabo and Reece and you'll know what size you need!
