Shin guards for kids
Shin guards are essential during every match or training session. Check out the kids' range from Nike and Stanno.
Safe and mandatory
Wearing shin guards during football matches has been mandatory since 1999. So it's no surprise that we're now so used to it that shin guards are often also worn during football training. Because even though it's not mandatory, it's still much safer to wear them during training too!
Size
When buying shin guards, it's a good idea to try them on properly beforehand. Shin guards that are too small will pinch, which means your child can concentrate less well and will be restricted in their freedom of movement. On the other hand, shin guards that are too large aren't recommended either, as they'll slide around and won't offer the protection you want. Only shin guards in the right size will provide the right protection, so it's best not to buy shin guards 'to grow into'.
Tip
Do you have loose shin guards that are held in place by your football sock? Then guard stays around the ankles can be a great help, they'll keep the shin guards extra secure!
