Exercising with Children

When a child participates in a team sport, it’s obviously not possible to work out together, but if you’re doing home fitness, you can definitely work out together! From the age of 7, children can start using very light weights, but it’s crucial that they use the proper technique and that you monitor whether they can handle the workout. After each session, it’s important to ensure they get enough rest so that their bodies have time to recover.

Fitness Exercises for Children

Not all fitness exercises for adults are suitable for children, but there are definitely exercises that are great for kids! Balance exercises, for example, are excellent for children, as they help improve their stability and can help them stand firmer on their feet (literally!). Jumping rope is also great for kids, as it works on coordination and improves flexibility. Have you ever thought about doing exercises with a large fitness ball?

Tip

Try to present the fitness exercises as a game for your child, so they (and hopefully you too!) can enjoy fitness at home!
