Referees clothing for women
The Right Clothing
As a referee, you make important decisions and ensure that the match is played in a sporting manner. Everyone should be able to see that you are the referee, which is why it is important to wear a different color than the players. In the past, referee uniforms were mainly black. Today, you can also find many bright-colored versions.
The Details
Referee clothing consists of a shirt, shorts, and socks. The difference from a football kit is that referee clothing features several pockets in both the shorts and shirt. The accessories that a referee needs, such as cards and a whistle, can be stored in these pockets. The shirt pockets have Velcro closures to prevent items from getting lost. Referee shirts come in both long and short sleeve options. Make sure your upper body stays warm, as keeping your upper body warm will help you maintain warmth throughout the rest of your body.
The Material
Since you are moving around a lot, you will sweat. This sweat needs to be removed to keep your body dry. If the clothing cannot wick away moisture, it becomes wet and heavy, and it will feel cold. Your body will cool down, increasing the risk of injury. Therefore, choose a material that effectively wicks away moisture, such as polyester. Polyester is lightweight, dries quickly, and wicks away moisture efficiently.
Some brands add moisture-wicking properties through their own technology. For example, Adidas uses ClimaCool technology to ensure sweat is quickly removed, keeping you dry and cool.
Tip
Wash your clothing according to the care instructions. These can be found on the labels inside the clothing. Do not wash the clothing too hot and avoid using fabric softener, as this can damage the material.
