Wintersport backpacks
The Best Winter Sports Backpack
The backpack should be lightweight so you can move freely while wearing it. It needs to fit well against your back, ensuring the weight is evenly distributed to minimize discomfort. A small backpack is often sufficient for carrying food, drinks, clothing, and accessories onto the slopes.
If you want to load your ski or snowboard backpack a bit heavier, opt for a backpack with chest and/or hip straps. These straps help keep the bag in place and distribute the weight effectively across your body.
Even after skiing, the backpack can offer a lot of convenience. Some backpacks come with extra straps to secure your skis or snowboard, which is especially handy if you have to walk a bit to your apartment or hotel!
What to Bring in Your Winter Sports Backpack
One major advantage of carrying a backpack while skiing is that you can take along extra accessories and clothing, ensuring you're prepared for anything. But what should you actually pack for a day on the slopes?
Your ski pass should go in the pocket on your sleeve for easy scanning at the lifts. You can fit almost anything in your backpack. When you ski or snowboard with a backpack, you prepare for the unexpected. The backpack offers enough space for a water bottle and snacks, so you can easily grab a bite to eat and drink while on the lift.
Is the sun suddenly shining? Or does it get much colder out of nowhere? You can easily prepare for these situations too! You can pack an extra visor, sunglasses, sunscreen, and even an additional pair of gloves and a spare layer of clothing in your bag. If it turns out to be much colder at the beginning of the day than later on, you can take off a layer and store it in the backpack.
Do you ever go off-piste? Then it's wise to bring some tools and a first-aid kit in your backpack!
Tip
When getting off the lift, be sure to check that the backpack doesn’t get caught on anything.
