Tennis Sweaters
What kind of sweaters are there?
There are many different types of sweaters in the category 'sweaters'. There are regular sweaters without a hood and sweaters with a hood, also known as hoodies. Additionally, there are sweaters that can be fully unzipped, like a vest or a training jacket.
Wear a tennis sweater as a second layer!
The sweater is often worn over a shirt or thermal shirt. It is suitable for retaining body heat. To do this as effectively as possible, it is important that the sweater is not tight against the body. The layer of air between the shirt and the second layer acts as an insulating layer, keeping the body warm.
What material should the tennis sweater be made of?
Every sweater keeps you warm, but not every sweater is suitable for sports. During physical exertion, the body sweats and this moisture needs to be removed. The sweater should be made of a fabric capable of this. Sweaters made of a synthetic fabric such as polyester are most suitable for this purpose. Polyester absorbs sweat and releases it directly to the outside air. This keeps the sweater dry and your body feeling comfortable.
A fabric that is not suitable for sports is cotton. A 100% cotton sweater will absorb all the sweat and then not release it to the outside air or the next layer. This makes the sweater wet and heavy. When it's windy, the body cools down very quickly, which can lead to injuries. A combination of cotton and a fabric like polyester is suitable for sports.
Tip
If it's not very cold, it's best to choose a vest. You can unzip it slightly to release some heat.
