What should a good tennis short meet?

First of all, a tennis short should of course fit comfortably. Women often opt for loose shorts with a tight, short inner lining. Men prefer loose shorts with large pockets. You should be able to move freely and there should be a place to store tennis balls. Lastly, the tennis short should be able to quickly wick away perspiration, so it remains comfortable to wear.

What material should the tennis short be made of?

When choosing your tennis short, pay attention to the material it is made of. A synthetic fabric ensures that perspiration is absorbed as quickly as possible and then released to the outside air. Avoid 100% cotton tennis shorts, as they do not wick away perspiration, causing the shorts to become wet and heavy. A combination of cotton and synthetic fabric is recommended.

Regular sports shorts vs. tennis shorts

The difference between regular sports shorts and tennis shorts is that tennis shorts have a designated place where tennis balls can be stored. In men's shorts, you can store them in the large pockets. Women's shorts are often loose and come with a tight inner lining. Balls can be stored under the inner lining or in a single pocket.

Tip

Check the washing instructions on the label inside the shorts. Follow these instructions to keep the shorts looking good and maintain their functionality.
