Swim briefs
A swim brief is a close-fitting piece of swimwear. Thanks to its streamlined design, swim briefs are hugely popular with competitive swimmers, but they also look great for recreational use. In some countries, swim briefs are the only style allowed at the pool.
Streamlined
A swim brief fits snugly to the body, offering little resistance. That's why it's mostly worn by competitive swimmers. As a recreational swimmer you can obviously choose a brief too, many people simply find it more comfortable. Getting the right size matters: too tight and it pinches, too loose and it can slip. Keep in mind the brief loosens up in the water, so don't buy it too big.
Almost all swim briefs have a drawstring for a snug fit. Some briefs offer UV protection. Check the exact features in the product descriptions.
Technologies
Speedo is a specialist swim brand and uses special technology like Endurance10. This gives a better fit and a soft, comfortable feel. A brief made with Endurance10 is 100% chlorine-resistant and fast-drying. Arena uses MaxLife technology, making the brief feel very soft, fit well and resist chlorine.
Tips
After swimming, it's best to rinse your brief straight away with clear, chlorine-free, cold water. Wash it at home according to the label instructions.
In some countries, swim briefs are the only style allowed at the pool, swim shorts aren't permitted. Check this before you travel.
