Outdoor Fleece
What is fleece?
Fleece, which is English for fur, is a warm, well-insulating fabric that resembles an animal's coat. It has the good properties of wool, although it is not wool. Fleece is a synthetic material that is much lighter than wool. For anyone allergic to wool or who principledly does not wear animal fur, this is the ideal substitute.
Is a fleece jacket waterproof?
Fleece is hydrophobic, which means it does not absorb water. When a fleece sweater or fleece jacket is immersed in water, it only absorbs 1% of its own weight in water. Fleece therefore never becomes heavy and cold due to rain. In addition, fleece is a breathable fabric and therefore very suitable to wear during a walk in colder weather conditions. Almost all fleece sweaters and fleece jackets are equipped with a zipper that can be opened for extra ventilation while walking. At Plutosport.com you will find a wide range for both women and men!
Is a fleece jacket warm?
During a walk, you will probably take a break now and then, and it is important to keep the body warm. Rapid cooling during a break increases the risk of injuries and leads to extra muscle pain. A fleece jacket is made of synthetic knitted fibers, often in the form of polyester, which prevents it from absorbing moisture. You can compare it to wool but much lighter. The fleece therefore retains the air layer around your body well, keeping you nice and warm! Fleece is easy to put on and take off and keeps the body warm, allowing you to continue walking briskly after the break without having to warm up your muscles again.
Tip
When washing, be sure to follow the washing instructions to maintain the quality and functions of the fleece. Do not put the fleece in the dryer. The fleece dries quickly when hung up.
