Buying Sneakers: What to Look For?

Sneakers are worn because they look great and are comfortable to walk in. Additionally, they help keep your feet warm and protect them from sharp objects, preventing foot pain. This is important, as shoes can often be the biggest cause of foot issues. Wearing the wrong shoes or incorrect sizes can lead to problems like blisters, calluses, bunions, and corns. Be sure to check the size chart that comes with the sneakers, as sizes can vary between brands. Also, foot lengths can differ, so it’s best to measure both feet and choose the longest foot as your size.

Different Types of Sneakers

A sneaker is a lifestyle shoe that shares characteristics with a sports shoe. It is a lightweight shoe that offers plenty of comfort. The upper material can be made from canvas, suede, leather, or a combination of these materials. Each material has its own benefits. Canvas sneakers are easy to clean, while suede sneakers look stylish but are more delicate. Leather sneakers are durable, strong, breathable, and comfortable but require more maintenance. Buying Sneakers from Popular Brands

Over the years, new models have come to market, and it's now hard to ignore major sneaker brands like Nike, New Balance, and Puma. At Plutosport.nl, you’ll find sneakers for women, men, and children, along with the best deals. The smallest sneakers start from size 17 and are available with both lace-up and velcro closures. As for colors, there’s a wide range to choose from! If you prefer a neutral sneaker color, brands like Vans, Nike, or Puma are great options. Prefer a more eye-catching color? Adidas adds colorful accents to many of their white and black sneaker models. If you love color, New Balance is the perfect choice with options ranging from pastel shades to warm autumn colors.

How to Care for Your Sneakers

To ensure your sneakers last as long as possible, regular cleaning and maintenance are key. The easiest to clean are canvas sneakers. After brushing off any dirt, you can wash them in the washing machine on a ‘cold’ setting. Using a warm setting could cause the sneakers to shrink or discolor. You can wash the laces along with them by putting them in a laundry bag or pillowcase. Let the sneakers air dry naturally, away from direct sunlight and never in the dryer, as this can cause shrinking.

Suede sneakers, however, should not go in the washing machine. Suede is a delicate material, and water can damage it. Use a special suede eraser to remove grease stains. For stubborn stains, use a shoe cleaner with a little water and a soft brush, making sure the brush is not too wet. Brush the shoe evenly to prevent any new stains. After brushing, gently pat the sneakers dry with a microfiber cloth. Once the sneakers are clean, it’s wise to spray them with a dirt- and water-repellent spray.

Leather sneakers require more maintenance. Without proper care, leather can dry out and crack. Regular polishing helps extend the lifespan of these sneakers. Remove the laces, clean the shoe with a brush, and apply shoe polish. Wait about 15 minutes before polishing the shoe with a dry cloth. Finally, spray the sneakers with an impregnation spray to protect them from dirt and water.
