Types of Lifestyle Bags

There are different types of lifestyle bags. Some bags can be carried on your back, while others only have a shoulder strap. Bags also differ in material and capacity. You can also take into account the number of compartments a bag has. Nowadays bags come in many different styles with various colours and prints, making the bag not only practical but also a striking fashion item.

Backpacks

Backpacks are the most comfortable bags to carry. Most shoulder straps are fitted with soft padding, and because the weight of the bag is carried on both shoulders, the bag feels less heavy. Backpacks are generally sturdy and come with multiple compartments, so you can store your things in an organised way.

To work out what kind of bag you need, it helps to first decide what you'll be using the bag for. If you use the bag to carry things to work or school, a laptop compartment might be desirable. Is the bag used during long walks where you might face different weather conditions? Then you can take into account features such as material, the number of compartments and extra straps to distribute the weight even better.

Shoulder Bags

Shoulder bags come in different styles and for different purposes. Work or school bags are, in the case of shoulder bags, often fitted with a laptop compartment. These bags also have multiple compartments so you can keep everything organised.

There are also shoulder bags to take to, for example, the beach or the pool. These bags are generally not very sturdy, but do have a lot of capacity so you can bring plenty of large items, such as your towel.

Travel Bags

If you're going away for a weekend, or even longer, you need a bag with plenty of capacity to bring a lot of things. As a travel bag, you can choose a duffel, a sturdy, spacious travel bag fitted with two short handles and one long shoulder strap. Every duffel has at least one extra compartment for storing smaller items. The duffels have a large opening so you can easily pack and unpack your bag.

Another popular travel bag is the trolley. These bags are fitted with a pull handle and wheels, so you can roll the bag instead of carrying it. Trolleys are also spacious bags and are often used as hand luggage on the plane. Do keep in mind that every airline has maximum dimensions when it comes to hand luggage.

Finally, in this category you'll find toiletry bags. These are suitable for storing your toiletries so you have them together and can easily take them with you.

Sustainable Bags

Buying a new bag is of course always fun, but with a sustainable bag you're also doing something good for the environment. Many sustainable bags are made from recycled material, which means no new raw materials need to be produced and a lot of energy is saved. When producing sustainable bags, a lot of attention is often also paid to quality, so you can enjoy a bag for several years and won't need to buy a new one anytime soon.
