Waist bags
In the past, waist bags were mainly worn by holidaymakers who wanted to keep their passport and wallet close by, but nowadays waist bags are completely on-trend. They're also known as fanny packs or bum bags.
How do you wear a waist bag?
Although the name suggests otherwise, you can wear a waist bag in various ways. Nowadays the waist bag is often worn diagonally across the shoulder, in other words crossbody. You'll often spot this look at festivals in particular. Another common way to wear it is a little higher up, putting the focus on your waist. You can, of course, also simply wear the waist bag around your hips, which is very practical too.
The benefits of a waist bag
The fact that the waist bag is completely trendy again isn't just because it looks good, it's also incredibly handy. The waist bag offers enough room to always have your wallet, phone and keys with you. And because you wear the waist bag on the front of your body, the chance of being pickpocketed is smaller than with, say, a backpack. On top of that, with a waist bag you'll never suffer from sore shoulders again, a well-known issue for shoulder bag wearers. The waist bag is therefore an ideal bag.
