Gloves
Gloves are perhaps the most worn accessory in your wardrobe. Going for a walk in winter or still need to cycle on a cold evening? A good pair of gloves from Nike, Warmbat or The North Face makes sure you don't end up with cold hands.
Gloves versus mittens: when do you wear what?
The biggest difference between gloves and mittens is that mittens don't have separate fingers. This makes it a bit harder to grab things, but because your fingers sit together, they stay warm for longer. That's why mittens are handy for winter sports or during a snowfall. You'll quickly reach for a glove when it's cold outside but not snowing, though your fingers stay warm for a shorter time in gloves because they sit separately.
The best gloves and mittens for you
When choosing a glove, pay attention to the material. It needs to be wind- and waterproof, insulate well and wick away sweat, otherwise you'll end up with damp hands. The outside of mittens is usually made from smooth material with an inside of warm fleece. With a glove, the inside and outside are made from the same material. Think of a knitted glove, or a glove made from leather or teddy fabric, but also mittens from UGG or Barts.
What size gloves or mittens do you need?
Adult sizes range from S to XL. Kids' sizes range from 92 to 176. Our website has a size chart for every item. Measure your hand circumference and compare it to the sizes in the chart. Looking for men's gloves, women's mittens or kids' gloves? At PlutoSport you'll find it all.
