Hockey skirts

Hockey skirts from The Indian Maharadja, Osaka and JDH offer enough freedom of movement and release sweat well, so you stay light and dry during the match. Choose a skort, a combination of skirt and shorts with tight-fitting undershorts, so chafing and embarrassing situations from a gust of wind are a thing of the past. Go for a synthetic fabric like polyester instead of cotton, as cotton doesn't release moisture well at all.

What matters most in a skirt?

The skirt must offer plenty of freedom of movement, so it shouldn't fit too tight. The skirt must also release sweat well. This keeps the skirt feeling light, dry and comfortable. The most suitable hockey skirt is the skort.

A skort is a skirt and shorts in one. This means the skirt is fitted with tight-fitting undershorts. These undershorts prevent chafing between the legs. Besides that, wearing a skort means you won't have embarrassing moments when the skirt blows up in the wind. This way you can focus entirely on the match and don't need to worry about your clothing.

The material

A hockey skirt needs to release sweat well. So choose a skirt made from a synthetic fibre such as polyester. This fabric is hydrophobic, meaning it 'repels' moisture. The fabric absorbs the moisture and then immediately releases it to the outside air, giving a dry feeling. Cotton skirts, on the other hand, aren't suitable for playing hockey. Cotton doesn't release moisture, which makes the material heavy and wet.

Tip

For the highest comfort, it's important that the hockey skirt is the right size. Check the corresponding size chart to see which size suits you.
