What's in a snorklingset?

A snorklingset contains at least a diving mask and a snorkel. Some sets are supplemented with flippers, so you're fully equipped right away. Mares and Atlantis offer sets that are also suitable for children, with adjustable straps and smaller sizes.

Diving mask and snorkel

The diving mask keeps your eyes and nose dry, the snorkel lets you keep breathing at the water's surface. Breathe in deeply and out calmly through the snorkel — it takes some getting used to but you'll pick it up quickly. Make sure the diving mask fits well so no water gets in.

Full face mask as an alternative

With a full face mask, the eyes, nose and mouth are covered. You can simply breathe through your nose and have a panoramic field of view. Ideal for beginners who find breathing through a mouthpiece difficult. After use, always rinse with lukewarm fresh water to remove salt and chlorine.
