Suitable material

Football is an intensive sport where there's a good chance you'll sweat. The material football shirts are made from needs to be able to wick this sweat to the outside. This keeps the body dry and able to maintain the right temperature. Not every material is suitable for making football shirts. Synthetic fabrics, such as polyester, are highly suitable for use in football shirts. Polyester is lightweight, dries quickly and wicks away moisture well.

Short or long sleeves

Football shirts are available with both long sleeves and short sleeves. Whether you choose a long sleeved or short sleeved model mainly depends on your personal preference and, of course, the weather! In cold weather it might be pleasant and sensible to wear a long sleeved football shirt, but on warmer days you'll probably prefer a short sleeved football shirt. Either way, it's important that the shirt is able to keep your muscles properly warm, reducing the risk of injuries.

Care instructions

It's important to wash a football shirt as soon as possible after a training session or match. This gives sweat as little chance as possible to soak into the shirt and affect its quality. Tip

Polyester is a fast drying fabric, so there's no need to put a football shirt in the dryer once it comes out of the washing machine. If you hang it on a drying rack or washing line, it'll be dry in no time!
