Purpose of Training Pants

When you go to your football training or match, it is important to keep your body warm. You start with a warm-up, and we recommend keeping your training pants on during the warm-up, especially on cold days, and only taking them off right before the match. If you begin a training session or match with cold muscles, they are not yet warm and flexible, which significantly increases the risk of injury.

After the training or match, it's advisable to perform a cool-down. Put your training pants back on during this cool-down. This allows your body to cool down gradually, reducing muscle soreness.

If it's cold outside, keep your training pants on while playing football. As a guideline, if the temperature is 10 degrees Celsius or lower, it’s wise to wear long pants during sports. If you don’t, your muscles won’t get enough nutrients, and waste products won’t be properly removed. Circulation decreases due to the cold, muscles become more acidic, and recovery takes longer. It’s also particularly painful if you get hit with a hard ball on your (upper) leg when it’s cold!

Key Features

A training pant is made of flexible material that allows for free movement and is very comfortable to wear. Most training pants feature an elastic waistband, with or without a drawstring, ensuring the pants fit well around your waist. To make it easier to put on and take off the pants over your shoes, most training pants have short zippers at the ankles.

Training or Presentation Football Pants

There are two types of football pants: training football pants and presentation football pants. Both types are made from polyester, but the technique used differs. Presentation football pants, also known as woven football pants, are woven with tightly packed threads. This creates a smooth, flexible fabric and gives them a more polished look. Training football pants are more focused on functionality.
