Men's clothing for ice skating
What to Wear When Skating?
The three-layer system is a comfortable approach for many sports, including skating! For the first layer, wear thermal clothing, then an insulating layer, and for the third layer, a windproof jacket. This way, your body stays at the right temperature, and if you get too warm, you can always remove a layer.
Skating on Natural Ice
Skating outdoors requires different attire than skating on an artificial ice rink; you might encounter a light breeze or even snowfall… When skating on natural ice, it's a good idea to wear long thermal pants under your skating outfit; this extra layer keeps your legs warm, allowing you to keep skating comfortably. If rain or snow is in the forecast, bringing a rain jacket is a smart choice! A rain jacket ensures that snow or rain doesn’t stand a chance, keeping your upper body warm and dry.
Skating at an Indoor Ice Rink
In an indoor skating hall, you don’t have to worry about the weather. You’ll know exactly how cold it will be, with no chance of unexpected storms! In most cases, the standard three-layer system, as described above, is enough. If you tend to get cold easily, you might enjoy wearing long thermal pants under your skating pants or skating suit for extra warmth.
