Why hockey?

The reasons why many boys and men choose to play hockey can of course be very different. Many hockey players find hockey so enjoyable because it is a team sport, you work together during training to improve your hockey skills, and during the game you all do your best to achieve the best performance! Many of these hockey teams are not only very close-knit on the field, but also outside the hockey field the players have a special bond.

Another reason why hockey is such a popular sport is that it is a fun way to stay fit. During a hockey game, players cover more kilometers on average than during a soccer game or a rugby game, so it will not surprise you that many hockey players have excellent fitness!

What hockey gear do I need?

It goes without saying that you wear a hockey uniform when playing hockey. During a hockey game, the official uniform of the hockey club is often worn, but during hockey training you can often choose your own clothing. During colder training sessions, many hockey players will choose to wear a tracksuit, but during warmer evenings, a hockey short and a hockey shirt or hockey polo will suffice. On the other hand, you need hockey shoes, a hockey stick, shin guards, and a mouthguard for both games and training sessions, as these are mandatory parts of the hockey equipment during games. To bring all your hockey gear to the hockey club, it is of course useful to also purchase a good hockey bag!
