Ski and Snowboard Back Protection

The back is a particularly vulnerable part of the body, so it’s wise to protect it well while skiing or snowboarding. Back protection originated in motorsport, but today it is widely worn on the slopes as well. Back protectors are available as a separate shield or in the form of a vest. You wear the back protection over your base layer but under your ski jacket.

Crash Pants

Crash pants are snug shorts that provide extra protection for the hips and tailbone. The extra thick padding prevents bruising or breaking your hips and tailbone during a collision or fall. You wear crash pants underneath your ski pants. They are equipped with elastic bands at the top and bottom to ensure they stay securely in place.

Wrist and Knee Protection

The most common injury among winter sports enthusiasts is a bruise or fracture of the wrist. When you fall, you instinctively catch yourself with your arms, which can lead to significant impact on the wrists. Special wrist guards prevent wrist "collapsing." Another body part that is used to absorb impact is the knees. Knee protectors help reduce this impact. As with other protective gear, it’s crucial that wrist and knee protection stays securely in place.

Materials

All protective items are made from flexible materials, allowing them to conform comfortably to your body and stay in position. The protection is designed so that you barely notice you’re wearing it. The padding is made from memory foam, which absorbs the impact from falls.
