Type of racket

Squash rackets come in various weights, sizes, and with different string tensions. Generally, a squash racket weighs between 110 and 160 grams. The thicker the frame of the racket, the heavier the racket is. As a result, the racket is a bit slower, but you can give more power to your shots. In addition, the shot is more stable during hitting. Lighter rackets are easier to handle and faster. You have more control over the racket, but you need to hit harder.

With a racket with a larger head, you can hit harder. On the other hand, with a racket with an average head size, you have more control over the speed of the ball. There are different balance points: head-heavy, head-light, and an average balance. With the head-heavy balance point, you can hit very hard. A racket with the head-light balance point is more manageable. A racket with an average balance point allows you to play with more technique.

Dunlop

Dunlop is the number 1 brand in squash. Well-known players like Gregory Gaultier, Nick Matthew, and Alison Waters play with a Dunlop squash racket. This brand of squash racket is also the most used during the professional Squash World Tour.

Tip

Regularly replace the grip of your racket. This way, you ensure that the racket will never slip out of your hands.
