Men's running shoes for overpronation
The Pronation Foot (Overpronation)
Do you already know your foot type, or are you unsure? To determine your foot type and whether you need special shoes, you can take a test. Runners with pronation feet tend to roll their feet inward while running. If you wear running shoes that don’t provide the support needed for overpronation, your risk of injury increases.
Function of Overpronation Shoes
Because your feet roll inward while running, your muscles and joints endure extra stress during landing, and your gait becomes uneven. Supportive shoes are designed to counteract this inward roll, allowing you to run with proper alignment. They provide extra support, particularly with reinforced heels and the inner side of the midsole.
Technologies
Several brands incorporate proprietary technologies to address overpronation. For example:
- Asics uses the Dynamic DuoMax technology to counteract overpronation. Additionally, Asics employs an Impact Guidance System, a system of interconnected components that promote a natural running pattern from landing to push-off.
- Saucony uses the Heel PowerGrid technology, integrated into the heel, ensuring a smooth transition from heel to forefoot.
