Gloves or Mittens?

In gloves, each finger has its own separate section, which allows you to move your fingers independently and makes it easier to grab things. A mitten, on the other hand, consists of just two sections: a small one for the thumb and a large one for the rest of the fingers. Mittens allow for more room for insulation, which can keep the hands a little warmer than gloves. However, with mittens, your child may have more difficulty holding onto things.

Safety First

Gloves and mittens not only keep hands nice and warm, but they also protect them in case of a fall. Skis and snowboards can be very sharp, so it's wise to always keep gloves on while on the slopes!

Material

Most gloves are made of polyester, and the palm is often reinforced with material that offers good grip. Additionally, kids often fall or get into snowball fights, so it's useful if their gloves are also waterproof.

Both gloves and mittens are easy to put on, as the bottom is often fitted with an elastic band or drawstring. This helps prevent snow or wind from getting inside. Make sure the gloves or mittens have a string that can be looped around the wrist. That way, if the gloves are taken off, they will stay attached to the sleeves and won't get lost!
