Material

A field football is often made from polyurethane or PVC. A polyurethane ball is almost always used as the official match ball because of its durability and abrasion resistance. The polyurethane ball remains playable in all weather conditions. In contrast, the PVC ball is much less resistant to extreme temperatures and weather conditions, which is why it is used for training sessions rather than matches.

Size and Weight

A field football for adults is always size 5, meaning the ball has a diameter of approximately 23 cm and a circumference of about 58 to 60 cm. The weight of the ball is around 450 grams.

Quality Level

The quality level of a field football can be indicated by a certification. The FIFA Quality PRO, FIFA Quality, and International Match Standard (IMS) certifications signify approved balls. These balls are tested during certification for weight, circumference, and shape change under various weather conditions.
