Men's running shorts
Types of Running Shorts
There are different types of running shorts. There are tight running shorts, also known as tights, and there are loose running shorts. It all depends on what you feel most comfortable in. The important thing is that the running shorts are made from material that can wick away sweat quickly. There are some differences between tights and loose running shorts.
Short Tight
A short tight is a form-fitting short, often referred to as a short sport legging. Since the short tight fits snugly around your legs, it provides support to your muscles. This helps prevent muscle fatigue and allows you to run for a longer time. A tight allows little wind and drafts through and helps retain your body heat.
Loose Shorts
If you don't feel comfortable running in tight-fitting shorts, loose shorts are an option. Loose shorts often have an inner lining. This inner lining provides the same benefits as the short tight. If the loose shorts don’t have an inner lining, you can choose to wear a compression short underneath. This way, you’ll also get the benefits of a tight.
Material
It’s important that the running shorts are made from material that can efficiently wick away moisture. Some brands apply special technology to ensure this moisture-wicking property. For instance, Nike uses the Dri-Fit and Stay-Cool technologies, and Asics uses the MotionDry technology.
You can also check if the running shorts feature secure pockets where you can safely store your key. This detail is typically included in the product descriptions of the shorts.
Washing Instructions
Always wash your running shorts according to the care instructions. You can find them on the label inside the shorts. Avoid using fabric softener and hang the shorts to dry.
To prevent sweat from soaking into the shorts, we recommend washing them as soon as possible after your run.
Tips
Some shorts come with reflective elements. You can enhance your visibility by wearing additional reflective accessories, which will make you even more visible in the dark.
