Ski suits for kids
Ski Suits for Kids
Children are often not able to warm themselves up properly, which is why it’s extra important for them to wear warm clothing on cold days or during a winter sports trip. Since kids are always moving, it’s ideal that the ski suit is designed in such a way that it doesn’t shift. Because the suit is made in one piece, wind and snow have no chance of getting inside.
On Cold Days
On colder days, it’s advisable to wear thermal underwear under the ski suit to ensure your child is extra well protected against the cold! You can also complement the outfit with a ski pullover or thicker (ski) socks.
On Warmer Days
To prevent your child from getting too warm, ski suits also have breathable properties. This allows the ski suit to wick away sweat, keeping the skin dry.
In short: the ski suit is windproof, waterproof, and breathable!
Well-Prepared for the Slopes
When you go winter sports, you naturally want to wear a ski suit that is warm and waterproof. The waterproofness of ski suits is measured in water column, and you can find the meaning of the different values in the overview below.
- From 0 mm: The ski suit is water-repellent, but not waterproof.
- From 1,000 mm: The ski suit will keep water out, but is not resistant to pressure. For example, if you sit on a wet chair, the pants will eventually leak.
- From 2,000 mm: The ski suit will remain waterproof even during long snow showers, but may still leak under pressure.
- From 5,000 mm: The ski suit is resistant to long and intense weather, and remains waterproof even under high pressure. However, prolonged high pressure may eventually cause leaks.
- From 15,000 mm: The ski suit is resistant to heavy snow showers and will keep you dry even underwater.
Make sure that the ski suit you bring is breathable and offers good ventilation. This will help prevent you from getting too hot too quickly, and when you do get too warm, the sweat will be transported away to the outside. In short, the waterproof layer should allow moisture to escape from the inside out, but not let it in from the outside.
