Women Thermal pants
The First Layer
A thermal pair of pants is worn directly on your skin, right after your underwear. A thermal pant wicks away perspiration and keeps your body dry and warm. Over the thermal pant, you wear ski pants. The ski pants protect you from snow, rain, and wind. The combination of these two layers ensures you stay dry, warm, and comfortable while skiing.
Function
A thermal pant must fit closely to your body. An air layer forms between your skin and the thermal pant, keeping your body at the right temperature. Additionally, thermal pants are breathable, allowing perspiration to be wicking away. Since the legs sweat less than the upper body, the breathable function of thermal pants is less strong than that of a thermal shirt.
Material
Thermal pants are often made from merino wool or polyester. These materials retain minimal moisture, wick moisture effectively, and are breathable. As a result, your legs will stay dry and warm. It is also important that you hardly feel like you're wearing thermal pants. Merino wool and polyester are both soft and lightweight materials. Polyester holds its shape well, while merino wool doesn’t itch and stays fresh for longer.
Models
There are long and short thermal pants. There are also thermal pants with a top part or attached salopette. Salopettes are suspenders, so the pants can never slip down. Flat seams or seamless seams add extra comfort. Some thermal pants feature an elastic waistband for a snug fit.
