Running triathlon
What is a Trisuit?
A trisuit, also known as a triathlon suit or triathlon wetsuit, is a multifunctional garment! It is not only ideal for running, but you can also swim and cycle in it. The material of the trisuit is comparable to that of a wetsuit, but it is lighter and more elastic. These great properties allow you to fully focus on the three components of the triathlon! Some triathletes still choose to change during the different stages, but this, of course, takes valuable time. Furthermore, the trisuit is designed with comfort in mind: it dries quickly after swimming, features a chamois to ensure comfort during cycling, and offers enough flexibility to run without hindrance.
Two-Piece Trisuit vs. One-Piece Trisuit
One-piece trisuits are particularly popular during triathlon races, primarily because of their aerodynamic properties. The one-piece suit is very form-fitting and typically tighter than a two-piece, reducing drag and allowing you to achieve faster times! The snug fit of the one-piece trisuit also ensures that the suit stays in place, with no risk of the shorts sagging or the shirt rolling up. While one-piece suits are commonly chosen for races, two-piece trisuits are very popular for triathlon training. With a two-piece, you have a bit more freedom of movement, and it is of course easier when you need to make a pit stop.
