Compression running socks
What Are Compression Socks?
Compression socks are high running socks that apply pressure to the lower legs. They often feature flat seams or are seamless to prevent irritation on the feet and legs. Like regular sports socks, they also have moisture-wicking properties and are anatomically designed to fit the left or right foot.
What Do Compression Socks Do?
Compression socks fit tightly around the feet and lower legs, exerting upward pressure. They are tightest around the ankle, with the pressure gradually decreasing towards the knee, which helps stimulate blood circulation and allows blood to return more quickly to the heart. This way, oxygen-rich blood returns to the muscles more rapidly, and waste products are removed more efficiently. Additionally, the snug fit of compression socks reduces muscle vibrations, minimizing muscle strain and preventing early fatigue. They can also be effective after running! Compression socks help speed up recovery, and many runners experience less muscle soreness the following days, allowing them to resume training or compete in races more quickly.
Tip
Prefer running in your regular socks but still want to experience the benefits of compression? You can choose compression sleeves, which cover only the lower leg, leaving the foot free.
