Fitness Mats
Which Fitness Mat Do I Need?
There are different types of fitness mats available: thick, thin, with extra grip, or soft and comfortable. The type of fitness mat you need largely depends on your personal preference and, of course, the type of exercises you plan to do on the mat. Thin mats have the great advantage of being easy to roll up, but thicker mats, on the other hand, provide more comfort. Do you always work out with shoes on? Then it’s less important for the fitness mat to offer a lot of grip. However, if you tend to sweat a lot and only wear socks, it’s very important to choose a fitness mat with good grip!
How Do I Maintain My Fitness Mat?
By properly maintaining your fitness mat, you can enjoy it for a long time! Before using cleaning products, it’s wise to carefully read the care instructions for your mat. Many fitness mats can’t handle (aggressive) cleaning agents! However, you can often wipe your mat with warm water and a little dish soap to keep it fresh. After cleaning, it’s best to let the mat dry on a drying rack before rolling it up again.
Tip
Do you prefer using your own fitness mat instead of the one at the gym? Many fitness mats can be rolled up very small, making them easy to take with you wherever you go!
