Why Should You Drink Water During Fitness?
Your body is largely made up of water. To maintain your fluid balance, you need to drink enough water. It’s important to drink water before exercising, as the body needs time to absorb it, and it helps prevent cramps. During exercise, you can lose 1 to 2 liters of fluid, depending on the intensity of the workout and the conditions. That’s why it’s important to drink water every 15 minutes during exercise. Staying hydrated helps maintain your fluid balance, allowing you to perform at your best and feel less fatigued after training. After your workout, replenish fluids further. Always bring your water bottle to the gym and refill it regularly.
Symptoms of Drinking Too Little
If you don’t drink enough water, you may experience the following symptoms:
- Thirst
- Fatigue
- Headache
- Nausea
- Muscle cramps

What to Look for When Buying a Water Bottle
Water bottles come in different types and sizes, and their drinking systems can vary. For instance, some bottles have a lever that raises a straw when pressed, while others require you to squeeze the bottle to drink. Some bottles feature an AutoSeal spout that automatically seals after each sip.
Other factors to consider when purchasing a water bottle:
- Is the bottle lightweight?
- What is its capacity?
- Is it dishwasher-safe?
- Can it be attached to your fitness gear?
Most fitness machines have a designated spot for holding a water bottle.

If you exercise for less than two hours, a bottle with a capacity of 500ml will suffice.
